SVTOATC Wins Big at Spring Apple Valley Ford Show

Several members of SVTOATC braved the misting rain, cold and wind for the 26th Annual UMRSAAC All Ford Show at Apple Valley Ford Lincoln Mercury on Sunday, June 7, 2009. Wet roads, misting rain mixed with snow flurries and wind were not enough to deter the die hard car show loves.

The morning began with a breakfast feast at Denny’s. The early risers met there by 7:00am to partake in some good cooked food before driving over to McDonald’s to meet up with other club members at 7:30.  At 8:00 we departed for Apple Valley Ford for check in and parking at the show. Immediately the cleaning obsessed members broke out the towels to dry off and clean up the cars from the wet roads but mother nature wasn’t quite done getting everything wet.

When all was said and done, the sun never came out but the rain/mist did finally end. All that was left was 6 hours of chilly temperatures and winds. But we survived it all for good friends, fun and cars. Sticking it out yielded GREAT results as our club took home 7 trophies amongst the group there including:

  • Best In Show - Gary Hamlin, 2003 SVT Cobra
  • 1st Place in Class - Gary Hamlin, 2003 SVT Cobra
  • 2nd Place in Class - Rod Strumbel, 2004 SVT Cobra
  • 1st Place in Class - John Lamoureux, 2007 “Mystery” Mustang GT Convertible
  • 1st Place in Class - Dick Krentz, Ford GT
  • 2nd Place in Class - Steve Strangis, 2005 Mustang GT
  • 2nd Place in Class - Mac Cafferty, SVT Lightning

The crowning award for the show was once again taking the “Best Club Representation” honor for the show, having the most attendees from one particular club (excluding the UMRSAAC) at the show.

Congratulations to all of the winners at the show and special thanks to all those members who braved the weather to enjoy the day with us. We look forward to being at this show again next year!
